Exact billing periods stay separate. USD medians and ranges are dated comparison estimates; Apple local amounts remain the authoritative storefront evidence.

What this monthly benchmark measures

This report groups verified AI app products billed for exactly one month. Each country aggregate uses the median of qualifying plan prices after a separately dated USD conversion, while the underlying Apple local amount and currency remain the primary evidence.

A country appears only when at least three exact one-month products have comparable values. That floor reduces the chance that one unusually cheap or expensive plan is mistaken for the whole AI app market.

How to read the lower-priced markets

The first markets in the evidence docket have the lowest converted medians in the current sample. That is a relative benchmark, not a promise that every plan is cheaper there: open the country ledger to see the observed range and how many products contributed.

Currency movement can also reorder the list without any developer changing a local price. For that reason the converted values are useful for comparison, but they are not Apple prices and they do not create price-drop events.

  • Compare the exact same plan before making an App-level claim.
  • Use the local amount and currency when citing a storefront price.
  • Treat the USD median as a dated measuring tool, not a checkout quote.

Why AI subscriptions show wide variation

AI apps do not share one global pricing rule. Developers choose regional price points, product bundles and willingness-to-pay strategies independently. Some products keep a close relationship with their US amount; others use more aggressive local pricing.

The category median summarizes those choices but does not erase product differences. Assistant, search, writing, image and video products can carry different costs and feature sets even when all are billed monthly.

Use the benchmark without overclaiming

For consumer research, start with a specific plan page and confirm the public Apple amount in the relevant storefront. Account region, payment method, tax treatment and eligibility still determine whether a person can complete a purchase.

For developer research, use the benchmark as a reference range rather than a recommended price. The global pricing worksheet preserves the same category and billing-period boundary while showing how verified local-to-US relationships distribute across markets.

Questions

Which AI app plans enter the monthly sample?

Only verified recurring products billed for exactly one month. Annual, weekly, quarterly, introductory and multi-period products do not enter this benchmark.

Is the lowest country always cheapest for every AI app?

No. The list ranks category medians from the current qualifying sample. An individual plan can follow a different regional pattern.

Are the USD values published by Apple?

No. Apple local amounts and currencies are the source evidence. USD values are separately dated estimates used to compare unlike currencies.
